Planting trees at Wellsway School as part of the Queen's Green Canopy scheme

Nearly 50 families from Wellsway and its partner primaries turned out on a beautiful sunny morning to plant nearly 200 trees as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy scheme.

Many families also had personal reasons for planting, which they wrote in a journal to be kept with Wellsway’s other historical documents. We even
had a visitor from Portsmouth who used to attend the school with her sister over 50 years ago.

A lovely time was had by all, and we were treated to some warming and delicious refreshments by Trevor from Keynsham Churches Together. There was a second chance to get involved the following Saturday so the final few saplings could be planted.
